Hi there! Anyone besides me wonder how to make delicious barbeque? For years I would indulge my barbeque fetish outside my home because I could never really figure it out. That was until Linda Horsley brought this tasty barbeque beef to my home one night many years ago. Of course, I shamelessly begged for the recipe. And right then and there, I fell in love and have made it religiously ever since. It could not be any more super simple and incredibly tasty! I always make double and triple batches because it freezes beautifully and can feed a large crowd. So, on a day that you are piddling around the house for hours on end, start this recipe early in the day and you will be thrilled with the results! I love it in a bun. It is delicious over rice. It tastes great with grilled veges and a thousand different ways!
Ingredients
- 1 Chuck Roast (pot roast)
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil
- barbeque sauce
- optional: strong coffee
Instructions
Brown roast in a small amount of oil in all sides in a dutch oven. By using a dutch oven, you can confine it to one pan. If you do not have a dutch oven, use a frying pan then put in a large pot. Cover with water (add some strong coffee if you have it). Simmer on stovetop for several hours (I cooked 2 of them for 4-5 hours) until meat is tender and shreds easily. Replenish water as necessary. Pour water off when done. Cool meat enough to shred, discarding any visible fat. Return to pot, add your favorite barbeque sauce and reheat to serve. Serve hot any way you like it! Enjoy!
