These delicious and easy biscuits come from America’s Test Kitchen and are a game changer. No more slaving for hours to make delicious biscuits! These are quick and so, so easy you will want to serve them with every meal! And believe me, your family will thank you!
Ingredients
- 2 cups, all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons, baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon, baking soda
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk, cold
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted + extra for serving
Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Line a rimmed pan with parchment paper. Whisk all dry ingredients together. In a small bowl, combine melted butter and chilled buttermilk. Stir until batter forms small clumps. Combine buttermilk mixture with dry ingredients and mix until just incorporated. Using greased 1/4 cup measuring cup, drop (a scant 1/4 cup) 12 rounds of dough on prepared sheet and space about 1&1/2″ apart. Bake until tops are golden brown, about 12-14 minutes. Brush with additional melted butter, cool slightly and serve warm.
***I was not watching what I was doing and made these today with 2% milk instead of buttermilk and they were still delicious. I think buttermilk makes them extra good but if you make them with regular milk, you will still love them!
Robin,
After reading the recipe, Doug went out and picked up buttermilk and we made them. They are heavenly and we gobbled them up! I have only a few left and I might use them to make strawberry shortcake. Thanks for sharing and congratulations to Carter! What a beautiful bride!
Hugs,
Ali
Alison, So glad you liked them! They are so easy to whip up, they have become a fan favorite here! And thanks for your sweet remarks on the wedding. It was a pretty awesome weekend! I hope you and yours are prospering in this weird year! oxoxo, R
