I have been making these on demand for 25ish years and my husband pouts any time he does an exhaustive search of the freezer and comes up empty handed. When the kids were little and wanted one, John would inevitably answer, “No, those are Daddy’s Cookies!” He still needs some help in the sharing department but it is a true testament to how much he loves them that he cannot stand to part with them. Once I put this recipe on Instagram I have had a billion DMs saying how much they LOVE these cookies. I always do a cost-benefit analysis with sweets to determine if the sweet is worth the calories. THESE are definitely worth it!
- 2&1/4 cups, unsifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 12-ounce package of chocolate chips
- 1 12-ounce package of peanut butter chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine butter & sugars. Add eggs one at a time. Add dry ingredients, then add vanilla. Mix chips in by hand. If you have the time I recommend putting the dough in the fridge for an hour or so as it allows the cookies to hold a little more shape when cooking. Bake for approximately 10 minutes. DO NOT OVERCOOK! Allow to cool completely before putting them up. I highly recommend freezing them and eating them right out of the freezer.
